The menu at Historic Piper Tavern is a celebration of comfort food and fine dining. Diners can indulge in exquisite dishes such as the Bleu Moon Filet, Trio Of Filet Mignon, and Steak Diane. Their seafood offerings, including the Seared Crabcakes Benjamin and Shrimp And Scallop Scampi, showcase the freshness that the area has to provide. The wide array of selections caters to every palate; whether you’re in the mood for the richness of Veal Cordon Bleu or the delightful Blackened Salmon, there’s something for everyone.
While the tavern has a rustic charm with its historic setting, there is room for improvement as mentioned by Robert concerning the ambiance. Nevertheless, the experience at Historic Piper Tavern transcends beyond that, as the food remains a major highlight. Doug Reese enjoyed the timely service with Valentine's dinner favorites, and Blase Gallo was particularly fond of the corn, chicken, crab chowder, and seafood cakes.

“ Yet another awesome place for dinner. Great service great food and great overall experience. If your looking for a night out with your better half or have a big party this is a great sport. They have smaller tables on the first floor. The second floor offers you a bigger space for a private party. ”
“ Nothing pretentious but fabulous food Especially loved the corn, chicken, crab chowder and the seafood cakes with crab, lobster, scallops and shrimp ”

The food is always fresh and tastes like it’s straight from someone’s home kitchen—comforting, flavorful, and made with care. Prices are super reasonable too. I love bringing my whole family here, especially for special occasions. It’s got that cozy, relaxed vibe that makes everyone feel at home. Highly recommend! ”
“ We made reservations for Valentines dinner and had a short wait to be seated. I enjoyed the crab cakes and my wife had the filet medallions. Both were delicious and were served on time by an excellent wait staff. I highly recommend. ”
“ Ate here for an unexpected lunch. Best chef's salad I've had. Was mad with fresh meats, not processed Higher end dining. Miranda was a friendly server, managing 4 tables. Very american menu with large, well prepared portions. Snapper soup well prepared. Full bar. Wine 13.50 for a glass. A little steep. One point off for the atmosphere. The ceiling has dark spots. Needs cleaning or painting. Will definitely return. We live a distance away, but it's worth the drive ”
“ Passing through the town, stopped in at this gem. Great spot, sat at the bar, Luna was a knowledgeable, hospitable and friendly bar tender. Food was delicious. Beef cooked perfectly abd the crabcake texture was wonderful. Highly recommend! ”
“ The food, service and the atmosphere at the Historic Piper Tavern are always excellent. Our only issue yesterday thd day before Easter was that when I called two weeks ago to make the reservation for 4, I asked if the Easter Sunday menu would be available the day before as I was making a reservation for Saturday and had seen Rack of Lamb on the Sunday menu. I was told yes and so I made the reservation. But when we arrived we were given the regular menu. Mikayla who is an excellent waitress, read us the specials and Lamb wasn't a special either. 3 of us were very disappointed. Then to be charged 75 cents for an extra dinner roll with the prices charged is appalling. But we still love the restaurant and will return. ”
“ Not consistent we always order the same. Fried oysters and crab melts. We have asked constantly make sure they are hot. They never are hot. Crab melts sometimes you get nice pieces of lump crab meat most times not as we were served for my birthday March 13. What a disappointing dinner but you can expect that at Piper Tavern. NOT CONSISTENT. ”
